Norður Seaweed Salt

€8.90
Norður Seaweed Salt brings together pure Arctic sea salt and wild Icelandic seaweed Söl (red algae), hand-harvested from the waters of Breiðafjörður Bay. This region is often described as a northern underwater rainforest, where seaweed thrives in mineral-rich waters and develops a naturally deep umami flavour.

The salt is produced on the island of Karlsey, Iceland, using a traditional method dating back to 1753. Arctic seawater is pumped into open evaporation pans and slowly heated using natural geothermal hot springs. This sustainable process leaves no carbon footprint and results in light, crisp and beautifully formed salt flakes.

The briny, gently oceanic taste of Söl seaweed enhances the natural purity of Norður salt, adding depth and character to a wide range of dishes.

Seaweed salt is perfect for:
- fish and seafood
- lamb
- soups and stews
- finishing salt for salads and vegetables

These distinctive salt flakes are appreciated in home kitchens as well as in professional restaurants around the world.

Norður Seaweed Salt is packed in a durable and elegant metal tin that keeps the salt fresh and protected, and also makes it suitable for gifting.
